We recently held a discussion on the digital economy for Africa: lessons from China. The panelist explains the big digital revolution in China where even beggars have gone digital. She observes that beggars in some places in China will have a phone where they ask you to tap to donate to them. Indeed it is a case of ‘beggars gone digital’.
The panelist also highlights China’s crypo-currency system. She notes that the crypto-currency regulation has advanced quickly in China. She associates the quick advancement to the already existing high use of technology in China for most sectors.
