Is transfer of technology to African countries the way to go to address the global digital divide? We ask our panelist in a discussion on the underdeveloped Africa digital market. The panelist observes that it is not necessary for Africa to reinvent the wheel. Thus, transfer of technology could be a starting point to leapfrog development of Africa digital market. What are your views on this?
African countries should however take caution to prevent other countries from dumping obsolete technology in Africa. This is indeed important since there have been cases where developed and developing countries have been accused of dumping obsolete technology and hardware in Africa.
